As a rehoming team leader you will guide and support your team of home visiting volunteers and with your support and encouragement they will feel confident and motivated in finding new homes for cats in our care. What the role involves:
€’ Being the point of contact to home visitors within your volunteer group
€’ Advising and answering questions from home visitors on suitable matches based on information obtained from prospective owners and the nature of cats in care
€’ Working closely with the welfare team to ensure that cats in care are appropriately matched with new homes in an effective and efficient manner and in accordance to Cats Protection’s policies and procedures
€’ Responding to rehoming enquiries from the general public

Skills and experience which are expected and/or can be developed in this role:
€’ Basic knowledge of cats and cat care
€’ An appreciation of suitable rehoming environments
€’ Good interpersonal skills
€’ Good level of record keeping/administration skills
€’ Patience and the ability to deal with sensitive situations
€’ Good communication skills
€’ Committed to working with others to find homes for the cats in our care
€’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
€’ Ability to bring the best out in others

ime expectation:
his is a vital role in all our busy branches and adoption centres; time spent by other volunteers in this role is approximately 10-12 hours per week. This role can be shared by more than one volunteer.
